What is Radiesse? Radiesse has been used for several years for patients who want an alternative to Bovine and solid implant materials. It is comprised of materials that occur naturally in our tissues and is used as a cosmetic injectable with FDA approval. It is a safe, effective, long-lasting alternative to other tissue fillers.
What’s involved in a Radiesse treatment? Performed right in our office – a Radiesse treatment takes as little as 15 minutes! Using a very time needle - it is injected into soft tissue areas just under the skin and then takes on the properties of the tissue into which it is injected – it hardens in bone tissue and remains pliable in soft tissues. There is little discomfort involved – which can be controlled with local anesthetic.
What can I expect following Radiesse Injection treatment? You can expect immediate results with little discomfort! There may be some bruising at the injection site and a little swelling is possible – this goes away within 24-36 hours and can be covered with our Jane Iredale Mineral cosmetic makeup for excellent, healing results. Ask about it in our Skin Care Centre.
How long can I expect the treatment results to last? From 2-5 years is the norm! Radiesse has become so popular because of the long-lasting results. Occasional “touch up” treatment may be desired.
